Your dissatisfactions with CCTV and the Chun Jie Wan Hui is exactly like how the college students are dissatisfied with our news chanels here in America (i.e. Fox News, CNN... etc)...

Media is biased regardless and each government has its PROPAGANDAS. I mean seriously, if you think the U.S. is all democracy and stuff then what about Iraq? The war that Bush single handedly went into when 72% of the US people are against it and congress did not pass the war. Weapons of mass destruction my ass... more like oil money for the pocket of the president coming from an oil typhoon family..

I guess I deviated from my point. My point is, there is not such a thing as "freedom" or pure democracy... but since you and I and disgussing about how unsatisfied we are with our governments, then it's a big emprovement for the Chinese government. (Especially since the late 80's.. let's not forget 6.4)

I'm glad to encounter the blog of an individual who thinks for himself. But on the real note, just because something might be uncensored or came from freedom of speech, it does not mean it's propaganda free. We don't live in Utopia. Human social structures are kinda weak anyways. Different government works for different cultures. I hope you really learn to think for yourself and not let another form of media (i'm not talking about cctv) influence your thinking.

媒体都是有偏见的，而且每个国家都有他自己的宣传机构。我可以很认真地说：如果你认为美国是个很自由很~民~主~的国度，那伊拉克战争呢？那场布什一手操纵卷入的战争，72%的美国人民没有答应，国会也没有通过。

我的意思是世上并没有绝对的自由和“纯正”的~民~主~...但是既然你我现在能够讨论我们对自己政府有多么不满，那表明~中国~政府已经有大的进步了（特别是从八十年代末期开始...让我们记住19890604...）。

我很高兴遇到这样一个能独立思考的博客。但是实际上，一些言论可能未经审查或者来自自由的谈话，但这并不意味着它们的传播都是自由的……我们不是生活在世外桃源，不管怎么说，人类社会结构总是有一些缺陷的。不同的政府都会在各自不同的文化下运作。我希望你能真正学会独立思考，不要让任何形式的媒体（并非特指CCTV）影响到你的思考。

BTW... I like the videos you've found... however, I don't agree with some of the videos you posted about World War II between China and Japan.. but that's just my opinion. But I do want to thank you for posting them up so that I got another perspective of things.

I actually came to your site to ask you what you thought about Tibet... lo and behold, here's an ENTIRE BLOG about it.

Honestly, the western media has been SOOOO BIASED against the Chinese government. Many people would actually ask me if there's actually a genocide in Tibet by the Chinese Government (I'm a Chinese American girl). A genocide as in the Chinese Liberation Army slaughtering every Tibetan person they see. I find that ridiculous!!! I'm sure the media is not flat out saying that per se, but it's definitely a rumor that's floating around.

My personal opinion is that the Chinese government shouldn't freeze information, so that people can actually get the real deal instead of making rumors and boycotting the Olympics. I am really upset about the notion of boycotting the Olympics. I'm even more pissed off about the notion of China being the worst country for human rights violation. I think America has done so much worse and gotten away with it (i.e. manifest destiny and slaughtering the native americans; Hurrican Katrina and the lack of government support due to the racial, social and economic "nature" of the residents; gasing the people who protested against the vietnam war.. etc). I believe the western media has scrutinized China so much that every tiny thing that the government does wrong is exaggerated and gets blown up.

I've always thought of you as not only a pro-freedom, but also a pro-western Chinese, so therefore I wanted your opinion on Tibet. More importantly, I want your opinion on how the western media portrays China, this red commi, cat eating, people abusing country.

And don't worry, I can read Chinese... I just don't have to program to type it (my Chinese sucks anyways!) I had to delete my last post and reposted since I wanted to add some stuff.

坦白说，西方媒体一直非常偏见性的反对~中国~政府~。其实有很多人会问我~中国~政府~在~西~藏~进行~种~族~灭~绝~是否确有其事（我是一个美籍的华人女孩），就是那场他们看到的中国~解~放~军~屠~杀~每个~藏~族~人的~种~族~灭~绝~。我觉得那简直太荒谬了！！！我敢肯定媒体本身并没有那样说，但这绝对是一个四处流传的谣言。

我个人的看法是~中国~政府~不应该封锁信息，那样人们自然会获得真实信息，而不至于传播谣言和~抵制~奥运会~。我很不喜欢~抵制~奥运会~的主张。而我对于中国正在成为侵犯~人~权~最严重的国家的说法更感到愤怒。我想，美国之前做过那么多的坏事，虽然现在已经把它们摆脱了（天定命运论和对美国土著的~屠~杀~、卡特里娜飓风和由于种族原因政府支持的缺乏...毒害主张反对越战的民众...等等）。我相信西方媒体已经在这样审视中国：政府犯的即使很微小的错误，他们也会极尽夸大，直到把气球给吹爆了。

我一直以为你不仅是一个亲自由，而且也是一个亲西方的中国人，因此我想直知道你对~西~藏~的看法。更重要的是，我想知道你怎么看西方媒体怎样描述中国，这样的红色国家，吃猫的国家，虐待人民的国民。

不必担心，我看得懂中文，只是我的中文不是很好而已。

By the way... I know you refrained from voicing your opinion... well this is my opinion on what's happening (and no you NEVER hear this side of the story from western media):

DALAI LAMA... a puppet leader under British Conolialism, lost his regime in 1949...so he naturally wants it back. He is then funded by the CIA (yes he was on the CIA payroll) to take Tibet away from China.

Of course the current Chinese government has made MANY mistakes... but so has EVERY OTHER FREAKING GOVERNMENT!! Western media manipulates the truth about what's happening in Tibet, using the chinese governemnt's reaction terrorist acts to slander China.

The truth is, China doesn't only belong to the Han Chinese... but to other 56 ethnicities as well and as been this way for thousands of years. Should the US free Texas? Should Canada free Qeubec?? Same shit goes for Tibet.

Religious and personal freedom? I think the Tibetans as well as everyone else deserve it. But Dalai fucking Lama is not the one to deliver any types of freedom. Furthermore, I think the Chinese governemtn should stop the freeze on information so that EVERYONE can see what's REALLY going on.

当然，当前的~中国~政府~已经犯了很多错误...但是其他国家的政府也犯过错误！西方媒体操纵正在~西~藏~发生的事实真相，利用中国政府对恐怖行为的反应诋毁中国。

事实是，中国并不只属于汉族...还属于其他56个民族，几千年来都是这样的。美国应该让德克萨斯~独~立~吗？加拿大应该让魁北克~独~立~吗？~西~藏~是同样的道理。

宗教和个人自由？我这是认为~西~藏~人和其他所有人都理应得到的。但是狗日的~达~赖~喇~嘛~并不是那个提供任何类型自由的人。此外，我认为中国政府应该停止封锁信息，那样大家就可以看看到底是怎么回事。

• 在YouTube上那些关于中日战争的视频，我也是不同意其观点的，而且我也是侵犯别人版权的，但是我觉得那些通过那些视频我们可以看到别人是怎么想的，那也未尝不是一件好事。
  
• 你说我们现在可以讨论政府的不是，可以表达对政府的不满，就说明中国已经在进步了。那难道我们要赞美它吗？我觉得现阶段我们这个“英明而伟大的政府”不需要赞美，因为赞美已经太多，多到可以自欺欺人的地步了。它更需要的是批评，从下而上的批评，如潮水般的批评，我们要让它知道它做的还远远不够，要让它知道人民并不全是傻瓜，要让它感受到压力。当然，这件事的技巧性在于，我们既要打狗，又不能打到它狗急跳墙。是的，政府就应该是一条狗，一条维护人民利益的看门狗。如果它是一条好狗，人民一定会善待它。说回来，我们不能因为以前这条狗经常咬人而现在咬得少了，我们就得赞美它原谅它——不，如果有机会，我们还是要教训它，直到它永不咬人为止。
• 我从来没说过美国有多好多好，我有多崇拜它，甚至对于整个西方我也没这样想过。家家有本难念的经，人人都有自己的缺点，国家也不例外。但是我知道的是：美国比我们更自由，美国比我们更~民~主~，美国比我们更开明，大体上，西方国家在这几方面做得都比我们好。所以我们要学习人家，要借鉴人家。谁做得比我们好，我们就要靠近谁，我们就要学习谁。是这个道理不？虽然是一样的东西，但是却偏偏有Pro-US、Pro-Western这样的操蛋的词汇存在，人类啊真是会自找麻烦。
• 有时候我们要学习把别人的批评当成自己的镜子。虽然不是所有的批评都是善意的，但即使是恶意的批评对我们也是有建设性意义的。不是说我们要任由别人误解，而是事情要分为两面。对外，我们当然要辩解，当然要抗争，我们要讲道理、讲证据，如果不信就请他们进来自己看看，我们要用事实封住他们像屁眼一样臭的嘴。但是，对内呢？对内我们就不能这样三人成虎，好像我们的政府一点错都没有一样。我们要批评政府，我们要责难政府，要给他们施加压力（如果有这样的能力的话），那样它才会进步。
• 我也是少数民族——壮族——一个基本完全被汉化了的民族，除了在高考中有额外加分，我感觉不到和汉族有任何区别（除了在外说出自己的民族出身时，偶尔遭到别人异样的眼神）。不过从民族情感上来说，我对藏胞们的心情是可以理解的。从国家的角度来说，我们对外国的误解及偏见感到非常愤怒；从民族的角度来说，难道我们对藏胞们就是完全了解的吗？当漫天都是歌功颂德，绝少负面报道的时候，我们更是难以看清事实。有时候我们也是在自欺欺人。
  
• 据我所知，信教的人有些思想是我们所不可理解的，具体到他们信仰的精神领袖，具体到他们的所作所为。在这方面，我们更多的只是外人。我不信宗教，甚至认为宗教的东西都很愚蠢（除了一些可用的做人道理），但是除了我女朋友，我不阻拦任何人信教，因为那是他们的自由，是他们的权利。但是如果由于某个宗教严重影响到了整个国家的安定，我就支持政府给予强力干预，因为国家不是某个宗教的，而是所有人的。当然，这个给予干预的过程与方法是值得探讨的。只有一个公开透明的、在公众监督之下，受到民众道义制约的政府，才会有心思去寻找解决问题的最佳方案。
